Synopsis

The IVF procedure can be carried out at the request of the couple by considering that as the right time for IVF. Read the article to know indications/right time for IVF.

The IVF procedure can be prescribed in cases where the other fertility treatments have failed, or if the chances of a successful pregnancy are higher with this method than with any other treatment. If there are no contraindications, the procedure can be carried out simply at the request of the couple by considering that precise time as the right time for IVF.

Right time for IVF: Indications

First, let’s talk about the indications for IVF. There are several diagnoses in which in vitro fertilization is often performed. Let us dwell on each of these indications in detail.

Tubal-Peritoneal Factor

Violation of the patency of the fallopian tubes leads to the fact that the egg cannot penetrate into the uterine cavity. In this case, you can either try to restore patency using a surgical laparoscopic operation or perform in vitro fertilization and implant an already developing embryo into the uterine cavity.

If both fallopian tubes were removed for some reason, then IVF is the only possible way out and it surely can be considered as the correct time for IVF.

Male Factor

This diagnosis is made when the quality of sperm is not high enough. If the number of healthy active sperm is too low to conceive a healthy child, it is better to resort to ART. The embryologist manually selects the healthiest cells, which significantly increases the chances of having a healthy baby.

If there are practically no sperm capable of fertilization, IVF with donor sperm can be performed.

Endometriosis

Mild forms of endometriosis usually respond to surgery and hormonal treatment. If, after the therapy, pregnancy does not occur, then the doctor sends the couple for IVF procedure.

During conception and pregnancy, a woman undergoes regular examinations in order to control the course of the disease and prevent its recurrence against the background of hormonal changes in the body.

Age-Related Infertility (Age Factor)

Age plays a vital role when we talk about deciding the correct time for IVF. With age, not only the number of active eggs changes, but also their quality. This reduces the woman’s ability not only to conceive, but also to give birth to a healthy baby.

With this factor of infertility, it is desirable to supplement the standard IVF procedure with ICSI and assisted hatching methods.

Anovulation

Anovulation is usually treated with simpler methods, such as hormonal stimulation combined with intrauterine insemination . But if such therapy does not lead to pregnancy, you can always use the IVF method.

This diagnosis is considered as one of the most “favourable” options, since patients with anovulation have a fairly high chance of pregnancy when compared to others.

Unexplained infertility

If it is not possible to establish an accurate diagnosis, and the therapy is unsuccessful, the doctor may advise the couple to resort to the IVF procedure. Unfortunately, this situation in the treatment of infertility occurs in about 15% of cases.

Right time for IVF: Contraindications

There are times when doctors refuse to perform IVF. Most often, these are situations when the procedure poses a threat to the life of a woman or her unborn child. All these contraindications are also listed in the order.
These include:
• Diseases of a woman, which are contraindications for pregnancy and childbirth;
• Malformations and deformation of the uterus that prevent the bearing of a child;
• Ovarian tumors;
• Inflammatory diseases;
• Benign diseases of the uterus that require surgery;
• Any malignant neoplasms, including those transferred in the past.

For fibroids or inflammatory diseases, IVF can be performed after treatment. In other cases, this idea will have to be abandoned, since pregnancy carries a risk for the woman herself.

Before the doctor offers to undergo IVF, the couple must go through the entire list of examinations. The doctor will carefully review all medical documentation, assess the test results, health status and the chances of a successful outcome, and only then draw up an individual training program and choose the protocol for the procedure.
