    Let’s know how the process of IVF is carried out at Indira IVF Bathinda centre?

    Different Stages of IVF-

    The first consultation at the Indira IVF Bathinda centre will be an opportunity for you to take stock of your health and reproductive history. This preliminary step to IVF will allow the specialist to review your medical history including ART treatments already performed or in progress. This first consultation will probably result in the prescription of additional examinations as well.

    After these exams, your specialist will be able to determine the best approach for your treatment.

    1. The second stage of IVF: Ovarian stimulation-
    2. Once the first consultation has passed, the second stage of IVF begins which makes way for ovarian stimulation . This is to stimulate the ovaries while controlling the cycle in order to trigger ovulation at the desired time. The expected result: the production of several oocytes (against a single oocyte during a natural cycle) so as to eventually have a larger number of embryos, stated Dr. Nirali Kapoor (Centre Head, Indira IVF clinic in Bathinda).

      The treatment includes a series of daily injections, spread over a period of 10 to 20 days (depending on the protocol chosen and the response of the ovaries to the stimulation).

      Throughout this stage of IVF, several ultrasound examinations and blood tests make it possible to continuously monitor the patient's progress.

      To monitor follicular growth, three to four vaginal ultrasounds should be expected. This device is supplemented by regular measurement of the estradiol level in the blood, confirmed, Dr. Nirali Kapoor (Centre Head, Indira IVF centre in Bathinda).

    3. The third stage of IVF: Oocyte puncture-
    4. When the follicles are in sufficient number and have reached an adequate size, the puncture of the oocytes can be programmed. It will occur about 36 hours after the last injection of the hormone hCG or the GnRH agonist, which is used to trigger ovulation and stimulate oocyte maturation. As a precaution, the patient is placed under general or local anesthesia. This gesture lasts only fifteen minutes, said Dr. Nirali Kapoor (Centre Head, Indira IVF, IVF treatment in Bathinda).

    5. The fourth stage of IVF: Fertilization in the laboratory and Embryo culture-
    6. After the collection of follicles comes the fourth stage of IVF: the insemination of the oocytes in the laboratory.

      At this point, it should be noted that the follicles can come from:

      • The patient, after recent puncture or after cryopreservation as part of a fertility preservation treatment;
      • From an anonymous donor during IVF with egg donation.

      To fertilize the oocytes, our embryologists use a sperm sample from the male partner or from an anonymous donor (in case of IVF with sperm donation). Depending on your particular situation, your practitioner will guide you to:

      • Classic IVF, which involves surrounding an oocyte with sperm;

      An ICSI (acronym for intracytoplasmatic sperm micro-injection) aimed at injecting a living sperm into the oocyte. This technique finds its major indication to circumvent the problems of male infertility and in particular in the event of oligospermia, asthenospermia or teratospermia, stated Dr. Nirali Kapoor (Centre Head, Indira IVF clinic in Bathinda).

      • A Genetic IVF, comprising of carrying out the ICSI procedure associated with pre-implantation genetic testing for the analysis of aneuploidies that is to say of chromosomal problems. The technique of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis can also be used for the screening of serious genetic defects in the event of suspicion of hereditary genetic diseases;

      The fertilized oocytes are stored in a special medium and cultured in a latest generation time-lapse incubator called “EmbryoScope”. Observed continuously, the embryos obtained after fertilization are classified according to their morphology and their ability to divide, shared Dr. Nirali Kapoor (Centre Head, Indira IVF Test tube baby centre in Bathinda)

    7. The fifth stage of IVF: Embryo transfer-
    8. 48 hours after fertilization, good quality embryos have an average of four cells. Their number of cells increases to seven or even nine after 72 hours. When they reach the blastocyst stage, the embryos can be transferred. Here we reach the fifth stage of IVF: Embryo transfer .

      The medical procedure consists of transferring the most resistant embryos into the patient's uterus using a fine cannula. This painless and quick procedure is performed in the operating room for reasons of proximity to the laboratory. It does not require anaesthesia, explained Dr. Nirali Kapoor (Centre Head, Indira IVF, IVF cost in Bathinda).

    9. Cryopreservation of supernumerary embryos-
    10. The embryo transfer process is complete now. In many cases, not all good quality embryos are transferred. In order to use them in a subsequent cycle (if the situation requires it), they will be preserved by cryopreservation. By preventing the formation of ice crystals, this method of preservation allows 97% of embryos to survive. Thus, it is possible to envisage a cycle in the future, without going through the ovarian stimulation stage again.
