Let’s know how the process of IVF is carried out at Indira IVF Rewa centre-

The IVF process consists of collecting a maximum of oocytes to mature and put them in the presence of a large number of mobile sperm. Thus, fertilization can occur in the laboratory with a greater probability than in the female body.

If the quantity of motile sperm is insufficient, a different technique called, ICSI or Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection is used, which consists in directly introducing a sperm into each oocyte.

Only the stages of fertilization and the very first stages of embryonic development (which normally take place in the tube) are carried out in the laboratory. The embryos are then placed in the uterus and they can implant themselves in the endometrium and develop until the end of the pregnancy.

The stages of IVF-

In vitro fertilization has 4 successive stages:

To ensure a maximum chance of success, it is absolutely essential to scrupulously respect the precise sequence of each of these stages. The way to proceed will be explained to you gradually by the nurses and the doctors.

  1. Stimulation of the ovaries
  2. The choice of ovarian stimulation scheme sdepends on many factors: your ovarian reserve, your age, the result of previous treatments, etc.

In some cases, oral contraception (pill) may be prescribed before starting stimulation to program the cycle. This must be initiated at the start of the cycle (first day of menstruation) and continued without interruption until the date set by the doctor in consultation. If necessary, a second strip is started after the first, without interruption, in order to arrive at the required stop date.

Several hormones will be administered simultaneously or sequentially in order to obtain several mature oocytes at the same time, stated Dr. Reena Tripathi (Centre Head, Indira IVF clinic in Rewa).

  3. The puncture
  4. When the ovarian stimulation parameters are optimal, ovulation will be triggered by an injection of either hCG or a GnRH analogue.

This injection must be performed 36 hours before the time of the oocyte puncture. The mature oocytes are then removed under ultrasound control, confirmed, Dr. Reena Tripathi (Centre Head, Indira IVF clinic in Rewa).

  5. Insemination
    1. Classic insemination
    2. A suspension of motile sperm, stripped of immobile cells and white blood cells, is prepared from the sperm sample. A drop of this preparation is placed in contact with each oocyte.

    3. Microinjection fertilization (ICSI)
  6. The transfer
The embryos are placed back in the uterus 2, 3 or 5 days after the puncture, depending on the procedure best suited to your situation. At this time, they count on average 4 (day 2), 8 (day 3) or a few tens (day 5) of cells.

On the day of the embryo transfer, the biologist will inform you of the number of embryos that have developed optimally. If several embryos can be transferred the doctor and the embryologist will give you all the information you want, to help you make your choice as to how many number of embryos to transfer. The rest can be cryopreserved or donated as per the patient’s choice, said Dr. Reena Tripathi (Centre Head, Indira IVF, IVF treatment in Rewa).

    1. Embryo transfer-
    2. Before the transfer of the embryos, a vaginal ultrasound is performed to estimate the length of the cervical canal and uterine cavity and to best determine the location where the embryo (s) will be deposited.

In the laboratory, the doctor and biologist will double check the identification of your embryos when they come out of the incubator then the embryos are collected in a drop of culture medium and sucked into a fine catheter by the biologist, stated Dr. Reena Tripathi (Centre Head, Indira IVF clinic in Rewa).

The gynecologist introduces the end of the catheter into the uterus (through the vagina and through the cervix) to deposit the embryo(s).

In the event of more difficult transfers (very anterior or retroverted uterus, presence of fibroids, etc.) the transfer of the embryo can be done under ultrasound control via the abdominal route.

A vaginal ultrasound check makes it possible to check the correct positioning of the embryo within the uterine cavity, shared Dr. Reena Tripathi (Centre Head, Indira IVF Test tube baby centre in Rewa)

    3. The Embryo implantation period-
    4. It is during the two weeks following the transfer that the embryo will hatch and penetrate the uterine lining. It is called embryonic implantation or nidation.

During this period, you can lead a very normal life. The outcome of the treatment is not influenced by your physical activity and waiting for the pregnancy result will be even more bearable, explained Dr. Reena Tripathi (Centre Head, Indira IVF, IVF cost in Rewa).

    5. Pregnancy test-
In all cases, a blood sample is taken approximately 14 days after the embryo transfer. If you are pregnant:

      • We advise you to continue the treatment prescribed to you until around the 8th week of pregnancy (unless otherwise advised by your usual gynecologist)
      • In order to follow the progress of your early pregnancy, new blood tests will be carried out as well as ultrasound scans.
      • If a normal progressing pregnancy is observed, continued monitoring will be carried out by your usual gynaecologist.

If you are not pregnant:

  • Do not be discouraged! As we have already explained to you, it is often necessary to repeat the treatment several times before achieving success.
  • Stop taking hormone supplementation, your period will start in a few days.
